Teen Dham from Haridwar
- Two nights in Uttarkashi for Gangotri
- Overnight at Kedarnath
- Mana village after Badrinath darshan
Three of the four Himalayan dhams, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, in a single eight-day road journey from Haridwar. It is the Char Dham circuit with the Yamunotri trek left out, so you save two days without missing the river source, the Jyotirlinga or Badri Narayan.
"Teen" is Hindi for three. A Teen Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand usually means Gangotri, the temple of Goddess Ganga at 3,100 m; Kedarnath, Lord Shiva's Jyotirlinga at 3,583 m; and Badrinath, the shrine of Lord Vishnu as Badri Narayan at 3,133 m. Together they cover the source of the Ganga, the most revered Shiva temple of the Himalaya and the northern seat of Vishnu, which is why many pilgrims see it as the heart of the Char Dham Yatra.
The fourth dham, Yamunotri, is reached by a steep 6 km walk from Janki Chatti and adds two nights at Barkot. Families with elders, travellers short on leave and those who have already visited Yamunotri often drop it and keep the other three. Some pilgrims prefer a different set of three, Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath, and we plan that version too. If you would rather do all four, see the complete Char Dham package.
The rates below are starting prices per person for four travellers sharing one private vehicle and rooms on twin or triple sharing. Budget uses clean standard hotels, Deluxe moves you to better-rated properties, and Luxury uses the best stays available on the route with all meals.

2027 estimates. The final quote depends on your travel dates, hotel category and group size. Helicopter tickets, pony, palki and the Sonprayag–Gaurikund jeep are extra.
The route runs west to east: first the Bhagirathi valley for Gangotri, then across to the Mandakini for Kedarnath, and finally up the Alaknanda to Badrinath, before returning to Haridwar along the Ganga.
Your driver collects you in Haridwar in the morning and climbs past Rishikesh towards Chamba and the Tehri lake. The road then follows the Bhagirathi upstream to Uttarkashi, a temple town with the old Kashi Vishwanath shrine. Check in, rest and keep the evening light, because tomorrow starts early.
Set out at dawn and pass the Gangnani hot spring and the apple orchards of Harsil on the way up. At Gangotri, bathe or sprinkle water at the ghats, take darshan of Mother Ganga and see Bhagirath Shila, the rock where King Bhagirath is said to have prayed. Drive back down to Uttarkashi in the afternoon.
This is the longest drive of the trip, crossing from the Bhagirathi valley to the Mandakini through Tehri district and Srinagar Garhwal's hills. Lunch stops break the journey, and you reach Guptkashi by evening. The town faces the Chaukhamba massif and is the base for both the trek and the helicopter shuttles.
Drive to Sonprayag, ride the shared jeep to Gaurikund and start the walk along the Mandakini. Ponies, palkis and pithoos are available at fixed local rates, and guests with IRCTC shuttle tickets fly instead from Phata, Sersi or Guptkashi. Reach Kedarnath by afternoon and join the evening aarti in the cold mountain air.
Join the early queue for darshan of the Jyotirlinga, then walk up to the Bhairavnath temple and visit the Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the shrine. Descend to Gaurikund by afternoon and take the jeep back to Sonprayag. A hot meal and a good night's sleep wait in Guptkashi.
Cross over through Ukhimath and the deodar forests near Chopta, then drop to the Alaknanda at Chamoli. Climb past Joshimath to Badrinath, arriving in the late afternoon. Take a dip in the Tapt Kund hot spring and attend the evening aarti at the temple.
Morning darshan of Badri Narayan is the high point of the journey, and many families perform pind daan for ancestors at Brahma Kapal. Visit Mana village, 3 km away, for Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and Bhim Pul. Then drive down the Alaknanda to Rudraprayag for the night.
Follow the river past Srinagar and Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi join to become the Ganga. Reach Haridwar by afternoon. If time allows, stay on for the evening Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri before your train or onward journey.

Gangotri opens on Akshaya Tritiya, usually in late April or early May; Kedarnath's date is announced on Mahashivratri and Badrinath's on Basant Panchami. All three close in October–November. The 2026 season is closing now, so this page plans for 2027. The best weather is in May–June and from mid-September to October; the monsoon months bring landslides. Check our opening dates page for 2027 announcements.
Registration with Uttarakhand Tourism is free and compulsory for every pilgrim, online or through the Tourist Care Uttarakhand app; see the registration guide. Kedarnath shuttle tickets are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal after registration. We do not sell them, but we help you prepare and plan the days around your slot; read IRCTC helicopter booking. Beware of websites that claim to sell shuttle seats.
