Complete the four dhams of Uttarakhand, then take Mata Vaishno Devi's blessings at her cave shrine above Katra. Two of North India's most loved pilgrimages, planned end to end from Delhi.
In many households, a vow to visit Mata Vaishno Devi and a vow to complete the Char Dham Yatra are made in the same breath. Fulfilling both in one trip saves a second long journey north, and the two pilgrimages complement each other well: the Char Dham asks for patience on mountain roads, while Vaishno Devi is a single, well-organised climb from Katra with excellent facilities.
Our plan completes the Char Dham first, while you are fresh, and then heads to Jammu and Katra. The Uttarakhand part uses a private vehicle from your Delhi doorstep; for the Jammu leg we recommend an overnight train from Delhi, which is comfortable and saves a 600 km road day. We help you choose and book suitable trains, though the fare itself is paid separately. Vaishno Devi is open all year, so the timing of this combination depends on the Char Dham season.
