Badrinath for Vizag
- Delhi airport or station pick-up
- Gradual climb via Joshimath
- Mana village and Tapt Kund
From a city at sea level to temples at more than 3,000 m: a single-dham yatra from Vizag is as much about pacing your body as planning your tickets.
Visakhapatnam pilgrims who worship Lord Narasimha at Simhachalam often feel drawn to Badrinath, where Lord Vishnu sits in meditation as Badri Narayan. Others set their hearts on Kedarnath, the Himalayan Jyotirlinga. Both are possible in a short single-dham yatra, but both sit above 3,100 m, a big jump for anyone who lives on the coast.
The city is roughly 1,750 km from Delhi. Most families fly to Delhi, directly or with a connection, while some take the long train. Our driver meets you in Delhi and the 4N/5D road plan begins, ending back in Delhi. If you can fly into Dehradun instead, the shorter 3N/4D Haridwar plan from ₹8,500 applies. The road plan is designed to climb gradually. You sleep in Haridwar (about 300 m) on night one, then Joshimath or Guptkashi, and only then at the temple. Even so, coastal travellers feel the thin air at Badrinath and especially at Kedarnath.
