Teen Dham Yatra Package from Bengaluru 2027

From the Deccan plateau to the Himalayan dhams

For pilgrims from Bengaluru, the Uttarakhand dhams are a once-in-a-lifetime journey, and most want to see as much as they can in one trip. The full Char Dham takes ten days on the road before you count flights. The Teen Dham Yatra is a popular middle path: it keeps Gangotri, the source temple of the Ganga; Kedarnath, the Jyotirlinga revered across South India; and Badrinath, one of the 108 Divya Desams sacred to Sri Vaishnavas, while leaving out Yamunotri's steep trek.

The train from Bengaluru to Delhi takes well over a day and a half, so we recommend flying. Land at Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport, about 35 km from Haridwar, and the tour can begin within an hour. If flights to Dehradun do not suit your dates, fly to Delhi and take the 8-night version from there. Either way, our driver is waiting at arrivals.

Itinerary: Dehradun airport and back, 8 days

  1. Day
    1

    Fly in, drive to Uttarkashi

    about 170 km6–7 hoursNight: Uttarkashi

Take the earliest flight you can from Bengaluru so that you land at Jolly Grant by late morning. The driver meets you outside the terminal and heads into the hills via Chamba and the Tehri reservoir. You reach Uttarkashi on the Bhagirathi by evening. If your flight lands in the afternoon, we spend the first night in Rishikesh instead and the plan grows by one day.

  2. Day
    2

    Gangotri

200 km round trip8–9 hoursNight: Uttarkashi

The drive to Gangotri passes waterfalls, the Gangnani hot spring and the open valley at Harsil. At the temple, offer prayers to Goddess Ganga and see Bhagirath Shila. The river is glacier-fed and freezing, so a quick sprinkle of water is enough for most visitors. Return to Uttarkashi.

Tips for travellers from Bengaluru

  • Bengaluru's pleasant weather is misleading. Kedarnath and Badrinath drop close to freezing at night, even in June; pack thermals, a warm jacket, cap and gloves. Full packing list.
  • Meals are North Indian vegetarian. Idli or dosa is sometimes available in bigger towns but not guaranteed, so carry ready-to-eat items you like.
  • Register every traveller on the free Uttarakhand portal; see registration steps.
  • Kedarnath shuttle seats are sold only on IRCTC HeliYatra. Read our helicopter booking guide; never pay websites that promise confirmed seats.
  • The 2026 season ends in November; book 2027 flights once the temple dates are out. See opening dates.
  • Altitude: walk slowly, drink water and tell the driver if anyone feels unwell.
