Bhopal's pilgrims live within reach of Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar. Kedarnath, the Himalayan Jyotirlinga, takes a little more planning: an overnight train to Delhi, and then five days on the road and trail with us.
Here is a detail Madhya Pradesh pilgrims enjoy discovering. When Kedarnath's doors close each November, the deity is carried down to Ukhimath and worshipped through the winter at a temple also called Omkareshwar. So the name you associate with the Narmada island Jyotirlinga near Indore also marks Kedarnath's winter home in the Himalaya.
Many Bhopal families have taken darshan at Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain and Omkareshwar on the Narmada. Kedarnath is the northernmost and highest of the twelve Jyotirlingas, at 3,583 m, and is open only from about late April or May to November. That short season, and the 16 km trek, are why it needs a dedicated trip. If you want to compare the walk with flying up, start with our Kedarnath helicopter booking guide.
Getting from Bhopal to Delhi or Haridwar
Bhopal is roughly 700–780 km from Delhi depending on the route, and around 900 km from Haridwar. That is too far for a road pick-up, but Bhopal sits on the busy Delhi–Mumbai and Delhi–Chennai rail corridors, so getting to Delhi is easy.

Overnight train to Delhi
about 8–12 hours
Most families; arrive fresh in the morning and start the yatra

Our recommendation: take an overnight train that reaches Delhi early in the morning. Our driver collects you at the station, and you are in Haridwar for the evening aarti. For more on rail travel to the hills, see Char Dham Yatra by train.
Choose a train that arrives in Delhi by 9 am. Later arrivals still reach Haridwar the same day, but you may miss the evening aarti.
Your Bhopal–Kedarnath week at a glance
