Shiva at Kedarnath in the morning, Vishnu at Badrinath by evening. This two-day charter from Dehradun links the two great shrines of the Garhwal Himalaya with a night beside the Alaknanda.
Tradition holds that a pilgrimage to Kedarnath is incomplete without Badrinath, and the two shrines have long been visited together. On the road this pairing takes 5 nights from Haridwar on our Do Dham road package, including a 16 km trek or a shuttle flight at Kedarnath and a full day crossing between the valleys. By charter helicopter, the whole journey fits into a weekend.
You leave the Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun on the first morning, land at Kedarnath for darshan, then fly across to Badrinath for the evening aarti and a night by the temple. Next morning there is time for darshan again and a visit to Mana village before you fly home. Because the flights are private, there is no IRCTC ticket to win and no queue at a valley helipad.

Notice that the two-shrine charter costs only a little more than a single same-day Kedarnath flight, because the aircraft continues to Badrinath rather than returning empty. If you are already considering Kedarnath by helicopter from Dehradun, adding Badrinath is usually good value.

Fly back to Dehradun around midday or early afternoon, in time for a flight from Jolly Grant or the drive to Haridwar or Delhi.
Prefer a slower pace? Ask for a 2-night version with a night at Kedarnath as well, so you see both evening aartis. We quote it on request.
Who books the Do Dham charter?
Most of our charter guests are families with parents who could never manage the Kedarnath path, working couples who have only a long weekend, and pilgrims arriving from abroad who want both shrines without losing a week to mountain roads. A few combine it with a road trip to Gangotri and Yamunotri on another visit, completing the Char Dham over two seasons. If you have more days and a smaller budget, the road version from Delhi or Haridwar with a Kedarnath shuttle seat gives a similar experience at a fraction of the cost.

Tips for a two-day helicopter yatra
Altitude
You fly from around 650 m at Dehradun to over 3,500 m at Kedarnath in under a day, with no gradual climb. Walk slowly, drink plenty of water and avoid heavy exertion. People with heart, lung or blood-pressure problems should see a doctor before booking. Spending the night at Badrinath, a little lower than Kedarnath, gives the body a chance to adjust before the second morning of darshan.
When to go
Both shrines usually open between late April and mid-May and close in November. The clearest flying weather is in May–June and from mid-September to October; the monsoon months bring frequent cancellations. Check our best time to visit and opening dates pages.
Packing
One small soft bag per person; the operator sets the limit and weighs bags.
Warm jacket, cap and gloves for Kedarnath and the Badrinath evening.
Photo ID, printed yatra registration and medicines.
Comfortable walking shoes. See the full things to carry list.

From about ₹1,25,000 per person for 1 night and 2 days from Dehradun (2027 estimate). The final price depends on dates, aircraft, passenger weight and group size.
Do I need IRCTC tickets for this package?
No. This is a private charter. IRCTC HeliYatra sells only the Kedarnath shuttle seats from Guptkashi, Phata and Sersi.
Where do we stay overnight?
At Badrinath, in a hotel close to the temple, so you can attend the evening aarti and the morning darshan.
Yes, it is the least tiring way to visit both shrines. There are short walks at each temple and high altitude, so a medical check-up first is sensible.
What if weather stops the flight?
Flights wait for safe conditions. If a leg is delayed overnight, extra hotel nights and flying costs are charged at actuals.
