Teen Dham Yatra Package from Pune 2027

Why Pune travellers fly to Dehradun

Pune sits about 1,450 km from Delhi, and the train journey north takes the better part of a day. Most Pune pilgrims we plan for are working families or retired couples who would rather spend those hours in the mountains. Flying to Dehradun (directly or with one stop, depending on the season's schedule) puts you 35 km from Haridwar and Rishikesh, which is exactly where the Teen Dham Yatra road route begins.

The tour then covers three of the four dhams: Gangotri on the Bhagirathi, Kedarnath high in the Mandakini valley and Badrinath on the Alaknanda. Yamunotri is left out to save two days. If you would rather fly into Delhi, we run an 8-night version from there, and both options end where you need them for your flight home.

Getting ready in Pune

Flying in from Pune, which sits at about 560 m, you reach Uttarkashi on the same day and sleep at Kedarnath on day four. That is a quick climb, so the plan deliberately keeps two nights each at Uttarkashi and Guptkashi before and after the high night at the temple. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and heavy meals at altitude, and tell the driver at once if anyone in the group has a persistent headache, breathlessness or nausea. Most people adjust within a day; anyone who does not should come down rather than push on.

  • Train for Kedarnath on the hills around Pune: a few weekend walks up Sinhagad or Parvati make the 16 km trail far easier.
  • Pune's mild winters do not prepare you for 3,500 m. Pack thermals, a down or fleece jacket and gloves; see the packing list.
  • Register every traveller on the free Uttarakhand portal; see registration.
  • Shuttle helicopter tickets are only on IRCTC HeliYatra. Our Kedarnath helicopter ticket guide explains timing.
  • The 2026 season closes in November, so all our Pune quotes are now for 2027.
  • Book flights only after the tour dates are confirmed.

What is the cost of the Teen Dham Yatra from Pune?

Are there direct flights from Pune to Dehradun?

Schedules change each season. There are usually direct or one-stop options; check airline websites before booking. Delhi always has many direct flights from Pune.

How many days off work do I need?

About 9–10 days if you fly to Dehradun: one travel day, the 8-day tour, and a buffer.

Can we take the train from Pune?

Yes, to Delhi or Haridwar, but it takes 20 hours or more. Join the Delhi package or the Haridwar package accordingly.

Is Kedarnath difficult for first-time trekkers?

It is long rather than technical. Fit walkers manage it in six to eight hours. Ponies and palkis are available, and shuttle helicopters fly from Phata, Sersi and Guptkashi.

Can we visit all four dhams?

Yes. The Char Dham from Pune page covers the full circuit with Yamunotri.

Will altitude be a problem coming straight from Pune?

Most travellers feel only mild breathlessness at Kedarnath (3,583 m). The itinerary builds in lower nights at Uttarkashi and Guptkashi. People with heart or lung conditions should consult a doctor before booking.
