Kedarnath Helicopter Booking from Delhi A Practical Plan

For Delhi NCR families, booking the Kedarnath helicopter is less about the flight and more about sequence: register, win a slot on IRCTC, then lock the car and hotels around it. Here is the order that works.

  • Delhi NCR pick-up
  • Shuttle seats via IRCTC only
  • Road + shuttle trip from ₹18,500
  • Charter fallback from Dehradun

Kedarnath Helicopter Booking from Delhi A Practical Plan

Why sequence matters when you book from Delhi

Many Delhi families start in the wrong order. They book train tickets and hotels, fix leave from the office, and only then try for helicopter seats, only to find the date sold out. Because the shuttle is the scarcest piece, it should be secured first, and everything else arranged around it. A car and a valley hotel can be found for almost any date; a seat on a sold-out sortie cannot.

Char Dham Trip is based in south Delhi (Badarpur), and we run this plan for families across Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. We do not sell shuttle tickets; those are sold only on IRCTC HeliYatra. Our part is the preparation, the timing and the road journey. The full trip is described on our Kedarnath helicopter package from Delhi page.

The booking countdown

Dates below are relative to your travel day. Exact IRCTC phase dates are announced each season, so treat this as a guide rather than a fixed schedule.

  1. As soon as the opening date is announced (Mahashivratri): choose a travel window and two backup dates. Check opening dates.
  2. When registration opens: register every traveller at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in or on the Tourist Care Uttarakhand app. It is free. Our registration guide helps.
  3. A few days before the IRCTC phase: create the HeliYatra login, save all registration numbers, and check payment limits. Tell us your target dates so we can pencil in a car.
  4. Booking day: book seats on heliyatra.irctc.co.in. Read IRCTC booking tips beforehand.
  5. Same day: send us the e-ticket. We fix the night stop near your helipad and the Delhi pick-up time.
  6. Then: book trains if you are going by rail, confirm the package with an advance, and pack light.
Did not get seats? Do not book anything non-refundable yet. Try the next phase or another helipad, or switch to the trek, pony or palki plan with one extra night.

Getting from Delhi to your slot on time

The helipads at Phata, Sersi and Guptkashi are roughly 440–460 km from Delhi, and the last 200 km are mountain road. Reporting times are early in the morning. That means you must sleep in the valley the night before the flight.

If you travel by car

Leave Delhi on the morning two days before the flight, sleep in Haridwar, and drive to the valley the day before the flight. Our driver can pick up from any address in Delhi NCR, including Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.

If you travel by train

Take an overnight or early-morning train from Delhi to Haridwar so that you reach Haridwar by morning the day before the flight. Our car meets you at the station and drives straight to the valley. Rail options are covered on Char Dham by train.

If you fly

Delhi to Jolly Grant, Dehradun, is about an hour's flight. Land by midday the day before the flight and drive to the valley the same afternoon, or stay in Rishikesh and leave very early.

What to send us when you enquire

  • Number of travellers, their ages, and anyone with mobility or health concerns.

  • Your IRCTC ticket (helipad, date, slot) or your target dates if you have not booked yet.
  • Hotel preference: budget, deluxe or luxury.
  • Whether you want to add Badrinath, Tungnath or another shrine.

WhatsApp +91-99111 77951 (9 am – 9 pm in season) or email sales@goglobaltrip.com. Our office at E-6, Hari Nagar Extension, Jaitpur Road, Badarpur, New Delhi is open Monday to Saturday, 10 am – 7 pm, if you prefer to meet in person.

Booking for parents who live in Delhi

Many Kedarnath helicopter trips are booked by sons and daughters for their parents, sometimes from another city or abroad. That works well, with a few precautions.

  • Register each parent with their own ID and phone number, and book the IRCTC seats with their registration details.
  • Share each parent's approximate weight; shuttles weigh every passenger.
  • Pick a night stop with a short drive to the helipad, even if it costs a little more.
  • Ask for a slightly longer plan if they tire easily; an extra night in Rudraprayag costs far less than a rushed return.
  • Read our do's and don'ts together, and arrange a medical check-up before travel.

Turning it into a longer trip

Once the Kedarnath slot is fixed, it is easy to extend. Two more nights add Badrinath, as in the Badrinath Kedarnath package from Delhi. One extra day via Chopta adds Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple of the Panch Kedar; see Kedarnath Tungnath yatra. For the full circuit, the Char Dham package from Delhi works with a Kedarnath shuttle too.

Kedarnath helicopter booking from Delhi: FAQ

Can I book a Kedarnath helicopter at an office in Delhi?

No. Shuttle seats are sold only online on IRCTC HeliYatra. No office in Delhi, including ours, can sell them. We can help you prepare and plan the trip around the ticket.

How early should I start planning from Delhi?

Start when the Kedarnath opening date is announced at Mahashivratri. Register as soon as registration opens and be ready for the first IRCTC phase that covers your dates.

Do you pick up from Gurugram or Noida?

Yes. We pick up from any address in Delhi NCR, including Gurugram, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad; pick-up and drop are part of the Delhi package.

Should I book train tickets before the helicopter?

Ideally no. Secure the shuttle seat first, then book trains. If you must book trains early, choose dates with good IRCTC availability and keep a refundable option.

Can I fly from Delhi straight to the helipad?

No public service does that. You can fly to Dehradun and take a private charter, see Kedarnath helicopter from Dehradun.

What is the cost of the Delhi trip with helicopter?

From about ₹18,500 per person for four travellers in 3N/4D, with the shuttle fare included when IRCTC seats are secured (2027 estimate).

Which helipad should Delhi travellers choose?

Whichever has seats on your date. Phata and Sersi cost about the same; Guptkashi is a little more. See Phata helicopter booking.
