Char Dham Yatra Package from Coimbatore 2027

A South Indian pilgrim's way to the four dhams

For many families in Coimbatore and the Kongu region, a journey to Kedarnath and Badrinath is something parents and grandparents have spoken about for years. There is a strong southern link to these shrines: the chief priest of Badrinath, the Rawal, traditionally comes from a Namboodiri family of Kerala, a tradition linked to Adi Shankaracharya, who travelled from the south to revive these temples.

Coimbatore is roughly 2,500 km from Delhi, so the yatra is planned in two parts. First, a flight to Delhi of about three hours, or to Dehradun with one change. Then the road journey through the mountains, which we arrange completely. The standard plan is the 11-night Char Dham package from Delhi; if you land at Dehradun, the Dehradun package saves two days.

Flights and trains from Coimbatore

Coimbatore International Airport has non-stop and one-stop flights to Delhi. Choose a morning flight that lands before about 1 pm on Day 1, so the drive to Haridwar finishes by evening. For elders, an alternative is to fly in a day earlier and spend a night in Delhi to rest; we can add the hotel night to your quote.

Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport is closer to the mountains, but flights from Coimbatore usually connect through Delhi, Bengaluru or another hub. If the connection times work, landing in Dehradun cuts the road journey by two days. Trains from Coimbatore to Delhi take a day and a half or more, so most families keep the train for the return only if they have extra leave. The Char Dham by air page compares both airports.
