Char Dham Yatra Package from Thiruvananthapuram 2027

Kerala's old bond with the Himalayan shrines

Few regions are as closely tied to the Char Dham as Kerala. Adi Shankaracharya, born at Kalady, travelled north in the eighth century, restored worship at Badrinath and, by tradition, attained samadhi at Kedarnath, where his Samadhi stands behind the temple today. The custom he set continues: the Rawal, the chief priest of Badrinath, is traditionally a Namboodiri Brahmin from Kerala. Many Malayali pilgrims feel this connection strongly when they first stand before Badri Narayan.

Thiruvananthapuram is at the far southern tip of the country, about 3,000 km from Delhi by rail. Flying is the practical choice for most, and it brings you to Delhi in half a day. From there our Char Dham package from Delhi covers Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath over eleven nights by road.
