Char Dham Yatra Package from Rajkot 2027

From Somnath and Dwarka to Kedarnath and Badrinath

Pilgrims from Rajkot grow up close to two of India's greatest shrines. Somnath is honoured as the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and Dwarka is one of the four dhams set out by Adi Shankaracharya at the four corners of India, along with Puri, Rameswaram and Badrinath. The Himalayan Char Dham Yatra therefore carries a special pull for Saurashtra families: Kedarnath adds the highest Jyotirlinga, and Badrinath completes the northern point of the circle that Dwarka anchors in the west.

In practical terms, Rajkot to Delhi is roughly 1,100 km, a long day and night by rail or about two hours by air. We suggest you travel to Delhi on your own and join our Char Dham package from Delhi, which runs twelve days by road and returns you to Delhi for the journey home. Families who prefer fewer road days can fly to Dehradun and start from Haridwar instead.

Getting from Rajkot to the start point

Train. Rajkot Junction has direct trains towards Delhi, many running through Ahmedabad and Rajasthan. Expect about a day on the train. Families often travel in AC berths with home-made snacks for the journey, which also helps on the long hill drives later.

Flight. Rajkot's airport at Hirasar has flights to Delhi, and Ahmedabad, about 215 km away, adds many more. A morning flight lets you start the drive to Haridwar the same day.

Through Ahmedabad. If seats from Rajkot are full, travelling via Ahmedabad by train or air is a common fallback. Our pages on Char Dham by train and from Ahmedabad go into more detail.

Tips for Saurashtra pilgrims

Food

Meals on the route are vegetarian dal, rice, roti and sabzi. Jain food without onion and garlic can be requested at most hotels, but options are limited in small towns like Barkot and at Kedarnath, so carry some dry snacks such as khakhra or thepla for the long days.

Health and weather

Kedarnath stands at 3,583 m. Walk slowly, drink water and rest if you feel a headache. Nights are cold even in May, so pack woollens, a windproof jacket and gloves; see our packing list and do's and don'ts.

Char Dham Yatra from Rajkot: FAQ

What is the Char Dham Yatra package cost from Rajkot?

The road tour from Delhi starts at about ₹24,500 per person for four sharing on budget hotels, plus your Rajkot–Delhi travel. Deluxe starts near ₹35,500 and luxury near ₹53,500 (2027 estimates).

How many days does it take from Rajkot?

Around 14 days door to door: about a day each way between Rajkot and Delhi, and 12 days on the road tour.

Is Badrinath one of the four dhams with Dwarka?

Yes. In Adi Shankaracharya's tradition, the four dhams are Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri and Rameswaram. The Himalayan Char Dham Yatra is a separate circuit of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

Can you arrange Jain food?

We request no-onion, no-garlic meals at hotels, and most can manage simple dishes. Choice is limited in small mountain towns and at Kedarnath, so carry some dry snacks.

Should we fly or take the train from Rajkot?

Flights save almost a day each way; trains are easier with seniors and luggage. Both connect to the Delhi tour. Flying on to Dehradun lets you take the shorter Haridwar package.

Can you book Kedarnath helicopter tickets?

Kedarnath shuttle seats are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal after registration. We do not sell them, but we help you prepare and plan around your booking.

Is there a shorter yatra for Rajkot families?

The Teen Dham Yatra skips Yamunotri and takes 8 nights from Delhi, and the Do Dham Yatra covers Kedarnath and Badrinath in 6 nights.
