Kedarnath for Pune guests
- Airport pick-up in Delhi
- Guptkashi and Kedarnath nights
- Trek or IRCTC shuttle
If you have climbed Sinhagad or Rajgad, the Kedarnath trail will feel familiar, only higher and colder. Here is how Pune pilgrims plan one dham, via Delhi.
Pune has a strong trekking culture, and that gives its pilgrims an advantage. The Kedarnath path from Gaurikund is 16 km of paved, steady climbing, not unlike a long fort trek, except that it ends at 3,583 m where the air is thin and the nights are freezing. With sensible pacing, most Pune walkers enjoy it. Those who prefer not to walk can choose Badrinath, where the road runs to the town.
Our Ek Dham Yatra for Pune travellers starts in Delhi. You fly or take the train to the capital, our driver meets you at the airport or station, and the 4N/5D road plan begins. If you can find a convenient flight to Dehradun instead, the shorter 3N/4D Haridwar package from ₹8,500 applies. City-specific pages are also available for Kedarnath from Pune and Badrinath from Pune.
| Mode | Route | Approx. duration | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flight | Pune – Delhi | About 2 hours | Most travellers; several flights daily |
| Flight | Pune – Dehradun (often via a connection) | Half a day | Saving the Delhi–Haridwar drive |
| Train | Pune – Delhi | About 20–26 hours | Budget travellers and elders who prefer berths |
| Train | Pune – Haridwar | Longer, limited services | Joining the 3N/4D Haridwar plan |
For most families a morning flight to Delhi is the best balance of cost and time: you land before noon, the car is waiting, and you reach Haridwar by evening. Train travellers should plan to arrive in Delhi a day early and rest. Read more about reaching the yatra by train or by air.
Per-person estimates for four travellers sharing a vehicle and rooms, excluding your travel from Pune.

Not set on Kedarnath or Badrinath? The other two dhams also run as single-shrine trips. Gangotri only (3N/4D from Haridwar, from ₹8,500) is a road journey to the source temple of the Ganga with two nights in Uttarkashi. Yamunotri only (same duration and price) adds a 6 km walk from Janki Chatti and two nights in Barkot. See the Gangotri Yatra and Yamunotri Yatra pages.
Your driver waits at arrivals with a name card. Leaving the airport, you head north-east on the Meerut expressway and reach Haridwar by late afternoon. Walk to Har Ki Pauri for the Ganga aarti, then an early night.
The road climbs from Rishikesh into the Ganga gorge, past Devprayag and on to Rudraprayag. You leave the main highway for the Mandakini valley and reach Guptkashi, a hillside town with its own ancient Vishwanath temple.
Drive to Sonprayag and ride the shared jeep to Gaurikund. Walk at a steady fort-trek pace with regular sips of water; altitude, not distance, is what slows people down. Ponies, palkis and IRCTC shuttles are the alternatives. Night at Kedarnath after the evening aarti.
Morning darshan, then a short visit to the Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi. The walk down takes four to five hours. Your driver collects you at Sonprayag and continues to Rudraprayag or Srinagar Garhwal.
An early start brings you to Delhi by evening. Book your flight to Pune for the next morning, or a late-night departure if you prefer to fly the same day.
Pick-up at Delhi airport or station and a drive to Haridwar. Dinner and rest; the next day begins at dawn.
Follow the Alaknanda through four of the Panch Prayag, with tea breaks at the confluences. Joshimath is the night halt below Badrinath.
Reach Badrinath, bathe at the Tapt Kund and take darshan. In the afternoon, walk through Mana village to Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul. Evening aarti at the temple.
A last darshan or Brahma Kapal rites, then the drive down the valley to Srinagar Garhwal.
Through Rishikesh and Haridwar to Delhi, with drop at the airport, station or your hotel.
Fly or take a train to Delhi, then join our 4N/5D road package via Haridwar, Guptkashi and the Gaurikund trek. Flying to Dehradun shortens the trip by a day.
The land package from Delhi starts at about ₹10,500 per person for four travellers on budget hotels; from Haridwar it starts at ₹8,500. Flights and trains are extra. These are 2027 estimates.
It is longer and higher. The path is well made, but the altitude makes it tiring. Fit trekkers manage it in six to eight hours.
About six to seven days including flights, or eight if you travel by train.
No, please book them yourself. We handle everything from Delhi or Dehradun onward.
Yes, the Do Dham Yatra from Pune covers both.
The driver waits or takes an alternate route where one exists. Extra nights caused by closures are paid by the guest, so keep a buffer day before your flight home.
