From the banks of the Krishna to the four Himalayan shrines. The distance is large, but with the right travel plan the pilgrimage fits comfortably into two weeks.
Vijayawada is one of the farthest major cities from the Char Dham, roughly 1,800 km from Delhi by rail and more by road. That distance shapes everything: the travel days, the choice between train and plane, and how much rest you need before the mountains. The good news is that the Himalayan part of the trip is identical for every pilgrim, wherever they start, and it begins in Delhi.
Our 11-night road package picks you up in Delhi, drives you to Haridwar and then completes the full circuit of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath before returning you to Delhi. This page also suits families from Guntur, Eluru, Machilipatnam and the Amaravati capital region.

Flight or train from Vijayawada?
Vijayawada Junction is a major stop on the line between Chennai and Delhi, so long-distance trains are plentiful. The journey takes more than a full day each way, which adds up to three extra days for the round trip. Vijayawada's airport at Gannavaram, about 20 km from the city, has direct flights to Delhi; the flight itself is about two and a half hours.

Tips for travellers from Vijayawada
Rest in Delhi. After a 30-hour train, a night's sleep in Delhi before day 1 makes a big difference.
Pack warm. Coastal Andhra stays warm all year; the Himalaya does not. Thermals, a fleece, gloves and a cap are essential. See things to carry.
Food. Meals are North Indian vegetarian. Rice is easy to find; carry your own pickles and podi.
Register in advance. Registration is free and mandatory. Our registration guide explains each step.
Pick your months. May–June or mid-September to October; avoid July–August.

What is the Char Dham package price from Vijayawada?
The land package from Delhi starts at about ₹24,500 per person in budget hotels for a group of four, ₹35,500 in deluxe and ₹53,500 in luxury. Flights or trains from Vijayawada are extra. These are 2027 estimates.
How many days does the trip take from Vijayawada?
About 14 days door to door if you fly, or 16 days by train both ways.
Is there a direct flight from Vijayawada to Dehradun?
Check with airlines for current schedules; most travellers connect through Delhi or another hub. Flying into Dehradun lets you join the 9N/10D plan from Haridwar.
Is this page also for Amaravati and Guntur?
Yes. Pilgrims from Amaravati, Guntur and nearby towns usually travel through Vijayawada station or Gannavaram airport, so the same plan applies.
Do you book the Kedarnath helicopter?
Kedarnath shuttle tickets are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal after yatra registration. We help you with the process and plan around your ticket, but we do not sell shuttle seats. Beware of fake booking sites.
Can we shorten the trip?
Yes. Choose the Do Dham Yatra (6N/7D from Delhi) or Kedarnath only, or start from Haridwar to save two days.
