Teen Dham from Haridwar
- Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath
- Two nights at Uttarkashi
- Mana village included
Haridwar is where the Ganga leaves the mountains, and it is the natural place to begin a journey to her source at Gangotri and on to Kedarnath and Badrinath. This 7-night plan starts and ends at the city's ghats.
From Haridwar, every kilometre of the yatra is in the hills, so no time is lost on plains driving. That is why the Haridwar start is our most popular version of the Teen Dham Yatra: eight days is enough to take darshan at Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath without rushing, and the cost is the lowest of any road option.
Pilgrims reach Haridwar the night before or early on day one. Haridwar Junction is served by trains from most parts of India, Jolly Grant airport near Dehradun is about 35 km away, and Delhi is a 6–7 hour drive. Your driver meets you at the station, your hotel or the airport, and from then on the vehicle stays with you until the last drop at Haridwar.
Prices are per person for four travellers sharing a private vehicle, on twin or triple room sharing. A group of two pays more per head; families of six or more in a larger vehicle often pay a little less.
| Category | What you get | Per person (from) |

| Budget | Standard hotels, breakfast & dinner | ₹17,500 |
| Deluxe | Better-rated hotels, breakfast & dinner | ₹26,000 |
| Luxury | Best available stays, all meals | ₹39,500 |
2027 estimates; your final quote depends on dates, hotels and group size. Compare with the full Char Dham from Haridwar at ₹21,500 for 9 nights.
Morning pick-up in Haridwar and a short stretch along the Ganga to Rishikesh. From there the road winds up to Chamba and down to the Tehri dam lake, then joins the Bhagirathi. Uttarkashi is reached by afternoon, leaving time for an unhurried evening.
Leave early on the narrow valley road that passes the hot spring at Gangnani and the wide Harsil meadows. Darshan at Gangotri temple is usually quick outside peak weekends. Spend time at the ghats where the river rushes past, then return to the same hotel in Uttarkashi.
Today you cross from the Ganga's western branch to the Mandakini valley. The route has steady climbs and descents, with breaks for tea and lunch at roadside dhabas. Guptkashi's hotels look out on snow peaks, a good reward after the long drive.
The driver drops you at Sonprayag, where a shared jeep runs the last 5 km to Gaurikund. The trail climbs past Jungle Chatti and Bhimbali to the temple meadow. Ponies and palkis are available, and holders of IRCTC shuttle tickets fly from their booked helipad instead.
Pre-dawn darshan of the Jyotirlinga is worth the cold queue. Walk to Bhairavnath temple and the Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, then begin the descent. Jeep back to Sonprayag and drive to Guptkashi for a second night.
Pass Ukhimath, where Lord Kedarnath is worshipped in winter, and the forests around Chopta. Join the Alaknanda at Chamoli and climb through Joshimath. Arrive at Badrinath for Tapt Kund and evening aarti.
Morning darshan of Badri Narayan, with time for Brahma Kapal rites if your family wishes. Visit Mana village and walk to Bhim Pul above the Saraswati. Drive down to Rudraprayag for the last night in the hills.
Descend along the Alaknanda past Srinagar to Devprayag, the confluence where the river takes the name Ganga. Continue through Rishikesh to Haridwar. Drop at the station, your hotel or Har Ki Pauri.
Arrive a day early if you can. The Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri at sunset is the traditional blessing before a dham yatra, and an early night means you leave fresh at 6 am. We can add a pre-tour hotel night in Haridwar or Rishikesh.
Room rates on this route range from about ₹1,800 a night in Uttarkashi to ₹8,000 for the best rooms at Badrinath. Kedarnath offers only simple guest houses and tents. More detail: Gangotri hotels and Badrinath hotels.
Usually between 6 and 7 am on day 1, so that you reach Uttarkashi in daylight. Arriving the evening before is the easiest way to make that start.
Starting from about ₹17,500 per person on budget hotels, ₹26,000 deluxe and ₹39,500 luxury, for a group of four. These are 2027 estimates.
