Badrinath from Rishikesh
- Joshimath, Badrinath, Srinagar nights
- Mana village visit
- Drop at Rishikesh or Dehradun airport
Rishikesh sits right where the Badrinath highway enters the hills. Step out of your ashram or guesthouse in the morning and you are already on the pilgrim road to Badri Vishal.
A great many pilgrims spend a few days in Rishikesh for yoga, satsang or simply the evening aarti on the Ganga, and then want to continue to Badrinath without doubling back to Haridwar. That is exactly what this package is built for. Rishikesh is 25 km closer to the mountains than Haridwar, so day 1 is a little shorter and you can be collected straight from your ashram in Tapovan, Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula or Muni ki Reti.
The trip follows the same well-trodden route as our Badrinath package from Haridwar, with nights at Joshimath, Badrinath and Srinagar Garhwal or Rudraprayag. The price is the same too. The difference is convenience: no extra transfer, and the option of ending the tour back at your Rishikesh base or at Dehradun airport.
Rishikesh is spread along both banks of the river, and some ashram lanes are closed to cars. Your driver meets you at the nearest motorable point. Common pick-up spots are below; give us your exact address when booking.
| Area | Typical pick-up point | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tapovan / Laxman Jhula | Main road near your hotel | Most guesthouses and cafés are here |
| Ram Jhula / Swarg Ashram | Parking on the Muni ki Reti side or the Swarg Ashram side | Footbridge areas have no car access |
| Muni ki Reti | Hotel gate | Easy road access |
| Yog Nagari Rishikesh station | Station forecourt | For guests arriving by train |
| Jolly Grant airport, Dehradun | Arrivals exit | About 35 km; allow an hour |
Rates are per person on twin or triple sharing for four guests in one vehicle. They match our Haridwar prices because the driving is almost identical.
| Package | Budget | Deluxe | Luxury |
|---|---|---|---|
| Badrinath 3N/4D from Rishikesh | ₹8,500 | ₹12,000 | ₹18,500 |
| Badrinath + Kedarnath (Do Dham) 5N/6D from Rishikesh | ₹13,500 | ₹19,500 | ₹29,500 |
Estimated 2027 prices; the final quote depends on travel dates, hotels and group size. Lunch (Budget/Deluxe), puja fees and your own Rishikesh hotel nights are extra.
Your driver meets you at 6 or 6:30 am and within minutes the road is climbing above the Ganga towards Byasi. The first long halt is Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi merge. The highway then threads Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandprayag before Chamoli. You arrive in Joshimath in the early evening and have dinner at your hotel.
The final climb passes Vishnuprayag and Pandukeshwar, the Badrinath winter seat, and opens out into the broad valley below the Neelkanth massif. Bathe in the Tapt Kund and enter the temple for darshan. After lunch visit Mana, 3 km on, for Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul. Return for the evening aarti and sleep close to the shrine.
If you wish, rise early for a second darshan or for rites at Brahma Kapal before breakfast. The road then drops steadily back down the Alaknanda. You stop for the night at Srinagar Garhwal, or Rudraprayag if you prefer, both pleasant river towns at a comfortable height.
A short final day brings you past Devprayag and back to Rishikesh by early afternoon. We drop you at your ashram, at Yog Nagari station or, for an evening flight, at Jolly Grant airport. There is time left for the Ganga aarti at Triveni Ghat or Parmarth.
Because the tour returns to Rishikesh by early afternoon on day 4, it is easy to bookend the yatra with a few quiet days by the river. Many guests spend the evening before departure at the Triveni Ghat aarti, and the evening after return at the Parmarth Niketan aarti on the other bank.
If you are staying longer, keep the heavier activities such as rafting or long walks to the days before the yatra, and save the gentler things, like a morning at the ghats or a short yoga session, for after you come down from Badrinath. Your legs and lungs will thank you.
At Badrinath, rooms range from roughly ₹2,000 to ₹8,000 a night depending on category and season; details are on the Badrinath hotel booking page.
Have a little more time? Pair Badrinath with Kedarnath on the Do Dham Yatra, or explore the Char Dham Yatra from Rishikesh.
