One plan for every corner of Gujarat: travel by train or air to Haridwar or Delhi, and a private vehicle takes your family or samaj group around all four Himalayan shrines.
Walk through Haridwar in May and you will hear Gujarati at every ghat. Families, housing-society groups and community samaj parties from across the state make the Char Dham Yatra one of their most important trips, often after months of saving and planning together. What they need from a tour operator is a reliable plan once they leave the train or plane.
This page is for travellers from anywhere in Gujarat. Whether you set out from Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar or a smaller town, the pattern is the same: reach Haridwar or Delhi, then join a road yatra. Groups that reach Haridwar save two road days with the Haridwar package; those flying into Delhi use the Delhi package.

Planning a samaj or society group yatra
Large groups are where planning pays off most. Hotels in Barkot, Guptkashi and Badrinath have a limited number of rooms, and in May and June a group of thirty cannot simply walk in. We block rooms town by town as soon as your dates are fixed, and split the group across neighbouring hotels where one property is not big enough.
Fix dates early, ideally soon after the 2027 opening dates are announced.
Collect names, ages and ID numbers for registration in one spreadsheet.
Decide in advance who will trek, ride or fly at Kedarnath, since this changes the timing for the whole group.
Keep one vehicle per 10–12 people so the group can move at different speeds on trek days.

Tips for Gujarati families and groups
Food: meals are pure vegetarian North Indian. Jain food without onion, garlic or root vegetables can be requested, but mountain hotels have limited kitchens, so carry thepla, khakhra and dry snacks.
Group leader: appoint one person to collect ID details and handle registration for everyone. See the registration guide.
Helicopter: Kedarnath shuttle tickets are only sold on IRCTC HeliYatra; read how IRCTC booking works.
Season: Gujarat school holidays fill May; September–October is calmer. Check the opening dates.
Packing: woollens, rain jacket and walking shoes. See things to carry.
