Badrinath for a family of four
- Private Dzire, Ertiga or Innova Crysta
- Delhi station or airport pick-up
- Haridwar aarti on day 1
Whether it is four family members or a busload from your society, Surat pilgrims can reach Delhi overnight and be at Badrinath temple two days later.
Surat sends large numbers of pilgrims to the Himalayan dhams every summer, often as extended families or community groups travelling together. Badrinath is a favourite because everyone can do it: grandparents, children and those who would never manage a long trek. The town is reached entirely by road, and the temple is a short walk from the vehicle.
Surat is about 1,150 km from Delhi. Overnight trains connect the two cities, and there are flights from Surat as well as from nearby Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Once you are in Delhi, our vehicle takes you on a five-day loop through Haridwar, Joshimath and Badrinath. Those who prefer to travel by rail straight to Haridwar can join the shorter Badrinath package from Haridwar instead.
| Mode | Route | Approx. time | Package to choose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train | Surat – Delhi overnight | 14–18 hours | Badrinath from Delhi, 4N/5D |
| Flight | Surat (or Vadodara/Ahmedabad) – Delhi | About 2 hours | Badrinath from Delhi, 4N/5D |
| Train | Gujarat – Haridwar / Dehradun (selected days) | About a day | Badrinath from Haridwar, 3N/4D |
| Flight | To Dehradun with one stop | 4–6 hours | Badrinath from Haridwar, 3N/4D |
Big groups usually choose the train, booking a coach or several berths together. We meet the whole group at the Delhi station platform exit and load luggage into the vehicle while you freshen up. Book train tickets as soon as the reservation window opens; summer trains north from Gujarat fill early.
Per person, land arrangements only, for four people sharing one car on twin or triple sharing. Groups of ten or more travelling in a Tempo Traveller usually pay a little less per head; send us your numbers for an exact quote.

Your overnight train arrives in Delhi and our driver meets you at the station. After a tea break you head north on the highway to Haridwar. Check in, rest after the train journey, and attend the evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri, where the whole group can float diyas on the Ganga.
This is the day the mountains begin. Past Rishikesh the road narrows and follows the river through Devprayag, the first of the Panch Prayag. Lunch is a simple thali at a roadside dhaba near Rudraprayag. By evening you reach Joshimath, where the air is noticeably cooler.
Reach Badrinath by late morning and bathe in the Tapt Kund before darshan. Groups can arrange a collective puja with a local priest at their own cost. In the afternoon visit Mana for Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and Bhim Pul, and buy woollens from village stalls. Evening aarti at the temple.
Pilgrims who want a second darshan go early; others can perform rites at Brahma Kapal. After breakfast you drive back down the valley. The night is spent at Srinagar Garhwal or Rudraprayag.
Start early and come down through Rishikesh and Haridwar to the plains. You reach Delhi by evening for a night train to Surat or a hotel near the station; we drop you wherever you need.
The Badrinath highway is a pilgrimage in itself. Point these out to the children in your group; your driver will stop at the ones you choose.
| Place | River meeting / significance |
|---|---|
| Devprayag | Alaknanda and Bhagirathi join to become the Ganga |
| Rudraprayag | Alaknanda and Mandakini meet |
| Karnaprayag | Alaknanda and Pindar meet |
| Nandprayag | Alaknanda and Nandakini meet |
| Vishnuprayag | Alaknanda and Dhauliganga meet, just below Badrinath |
| Pandukeshwar | Winter seat of Badrinath |
All meals on our tours are vegetarian, and Badrinath itself is a vegetarian town. Hill hotels cook simple North Indian food: dal, sabzi, rice and rotis. Jain meals without onion and garlic can be requested; options are limited at small hill stops, so many families carry dry snacks such as thepla and khakhra from home.
Surat's heat is no guide to the mountains. Badrinath mornings in May and October are close to freezing. Use our things to carry list and avoid July–August; read best time to visit for details.
Take an overnight train or a flight to Delhi, then travel by road through Haridwar and Joshimath. There is no railway or airport at Badrinath.
Land arrangements from Delhi are estimated from ₹10,500 per person for four on budget hotels. Train or air fare from Surat is extra.

Hotels can prepare food without onion and garlic on request, but choices are simple. Carrying some home-made dry snacks is wise.
