Badrinath Yatra Package from Haridwar 2027

Why Haridwar is the natural starting point

Haridwar is where the Ganga leaves the mountains, and for centuries it has been the gate through which pilgrims entered the Garhwal hills. It is still the most practical place to begin a Badrinath trip. Haridwar Junction receives direct trains from most parts of India, Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun is about 35 km away, and the hill highway to Badrinath starts just beyond Rishikesh. Starting here, rather than in Delhi, saves a full day and about 460 km of plains driving.

Our Haridwar package is a tight, well-tested loop of three nights and four days. You sleep one night at Joshimath to adjust to the height, one night at Badrinath close to the temple, and one night lower down at Rudraprayag or Srinagar Garhwal before returning. If you want to see more of the region, the same vehicle can continue to Kedarnath on a Do Dham package from Haridwar, or you can take the full Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar.

The whole route runs along one highway that climbs with the Ganga and then the Alaknanda. There are no high passes, but the road is narrow in places and work continues on widening, so speeds are slow. The figures below are approximate driving distances; times allow for tea and lunch stops.

Tips for pilgrims leaving from Haridwar

  • Arrive in Haridwar the evening before. Overnight trains often run late, and day 1 needs an early start.
  • Complete the free yatra registration before arrival; keep the QR slip on your phone and on paper.
  • Pack warm layers within easy reach. Haridwar may be 35°C while Badrinath falls close to freezing at night.
  • Carry some cash for offerings, Tapt Kund lockers and small purchases at Mana.
  • Avoid July and August if you can; monsoon landslides can close the highway for hours. See the best time to visit.
  • Elders with heart or breathing problems should see a doctor before travelling above 3,000 m.

Arriving by car from Delhi or another city? You can also join the trip with your own pick-up; see Badrinath from Delhi or Badrinath by car.

Badrinath from Haridwar: FAQ

What is the distance from Haridwar to Badrinath?

About 320 km by road, via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Joshimath. It takes 11 to 12 hours of driving, which is why we break the journey at Joshimath.

Can Haridwar to Badrinath be done in one day?

It is possible in a long day but not advisable. The mountain road is slow, and arriving tired at 3,133 m in the dark is hard on the body. One night at Joshimath makes the trip far more comfortable.

How much does the Badrinath package from Haridwar cost?

Estimated from ₹8,500 per person on budget hotels, ₹12,000 on deluxe and ₹18,500 on luxury, for four travellers sharing a car. Final prices depend on dates and group size.

Do you pick up from Haridwar railway station?

Yes. Pick-up from Haridwar Junction, the bus stand or any hotel in town is included. Pick-up from Dehradun airport can be added.

Can we stop at Rishikesh on the way?

Yes. Most groups pause briefly on day 1 or day 4. If you want time for Laxman Jhula or the Rishikesh aarti, the Rishikesh package or an extra night is a better fit.

Can we add Kedarnath to this trip?

Yes. Adding Kedarnath turns it into a 5 nights / 6 days Do Dham Yatra from Haridwar, from about ₹13,500 per person.

Is the Haridwar–Badrinath road safe?

It is a busy national highway driven daily by experienced hill drivers. Risk rises in the monsoon, when landslides can block it for hours. Our drivers know the alternatives and the safe halts.
