No train tickets, no airport transfers. Our vehicle collects you in Jalandhar, drives into the hills by way of Paonta Sahib and brings you home twelve days later with all four dhams completed.
Jalandhar sits within comfortable driving range of Uttarakhand: about 330 km to Dehradun and 360 km to Haridwar. That puts it among the cities where we can start the yatra at your home rather than at a railway station. For families with elders, heavy bags or simply a dislike of train bookings, this is the easiest way to reach the Char Dham.
Our Jalandhar plan takes the road through Ludhiana, Ambala and Yamunanagar and enters the hills by way of Paonta Sahib, where many Punjabi families like to pay respects at the gurudwara on the bank of the Yamuna. The first night is in Dehradun. From there the route is the classic one: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, then Badrinath, before you return through Haridwar to Punjab.

Day 12
Haridwar to Jalandhar
360 km7–8 hoursNight: Home
Leave after breakfast and drive back through Saharanpur, Ambala and Ludhiana. You are home in Jalandhar by evening, with Gangajal and prasad for the family.
Adding Hemkund Sahib or Amritsar
Many pilgrims from Doaba ask to add Hemkund Sahib, the high-altitude gurudwara above Govindghat, which sits on the same road as Badrinath. It needs two extra days: a trek or pony ride to Ghangaria, the climb to the lake, and the return. A Govindghat–Ghangaria helicopter of about ₹4,500 one way runs when the weather allows. Full details are on our Char Dham with Hemkund Sahib page; nature lovers can see the Valley of Flowers combination too.
Hemkund Sahib usually opens later than the dhams and closes earlier, in early October, so time a combined trip for June to September.

Char Dham Yatra from Jalandhar: FAQ
Will the car really come to our house in Jalandhar?
Yes. Jalandhar is within the range where we start the tour from your address, and the vehicle drops you back home on day 12.
What does the Jalandhar package cost?
From about ₹27,500 per person for four travellers on budget hotels, ₹38,500 deluxe and ₹55,500 luxury. These are 2027 estimates; the final price depends on dates and group size.
Can we stop at Paonta Sahib?
Yes. Our day 1 route passes through Paonta Sahib on the way to Dehradun, and there is time to stop for prayers.
Is it cheaper to go to Haridwar by train?
Slightly. If you reach Haridwar yourselves, the 9N/10D package from Haridwar starts at about ₹21,500 per person. Compare that with fares and convenience for your group.
How do we add Hemkund Sahib?
Add two days after Badrinath for the trek from Govindghat via Ghangaria. Hemkund is usually open from late May or June to early October.
Can we do only Kedarnath and Badrinath from Jalandhar?
