Ten days of pilgrimage in the Garhwal Himalaya, then a week among the lakes and meadows of Kashmir: a once-in-a-lifetime journey for families who want both darshan and a proper holiday.
Retired couples and multi-generation families often tell us the same thing: the Char Dham Yatra is a duty they have waited years to fulfil, and once they have travelled that far north they would like to rest somewhere beautiful before going home. Kashmir fits that wish perfectly. After the long drives and early darshan queues of Uttarakhand, the houseboats of Dal Lake, the gondola at Gulmarg and the pine meadows of Pahalgam feel like a well-earned reward.
The trip has two distinct halves. The first ten nights follow our proven Delhi-to-Delhi Char Dham route by private vehicle. On day 11 you fly from Dehradun to Srinagar (usually via Delhi), and the next six nights are spent in Kashmir with local transfers and sightseeing before you fly home. Flights are booked separately so you can use the airline and timings you prefer; we suggest suitable connections.

Planning tips
Travel in May–June or September–October so both halves enjoy good weather; Uttarakhand's monsoon makes July–August risky.
Keep the Srinagar flight flexible or book it after the Char Dham dates are fixed, since landslides can delay the yatra.
Pack for two climates: warm layers for Kedarnath and Gulmarg, lighter clothes for Srinagar afternoons.
Prepaid mobile connections from other states may not work in Kashmir; postpaid usually does.
Register for the Char Dham online before you leave; see the registration guide.
Elders can save a day's walking with Kedarnath shuttle tickets from the IRCTC HeliYatra portal.

How many days are needed for Char Dham and Kashmir?
About 16 nights and 17 days from Delhi: ten nights for the Char Dham and six in Kashmir.
What is the cost of Char Dham with Kashmir?
From about ₹49,500 per person for four travellers on budget hotels, as a land package. Flights and local Kashmir activities are extra. This is a 2027 estimate.
Can we do Kashmir first?
Yes. Some groups fly to Srinagar first and finish with the Char Dham. Weather and temple dates decide the better order for your month.
Is a houseboat stay included?
Yes, one night on Dal Lake. You can add more houseboat nights instead of hotels.
Is Amarnath part of this tour?
No. Amarnath runs only in July–August and needs its own registration. See the Char Dham with Amarnath package.
Do you book Kedarnath helicopter tickets?
No. Shuttle tickets are sold only on IRCTC HeliYatra after registration. We help you with the process and adjust the plan if you get seats.
Is this tour suitable for seniors?
Yes. Kashmir sightseeing is gentle, and ponies, palkis or helicopters help at Kedarnath and Yamunotri. Allow a rest day if needed.
