Char Dham Yatra Package from Guntur 2027

From the Krishna delta to the Himalayan shrines

For Telugu families from Guntur, Tenali, Narasaraopet and the surrounding Krishna delta, the Char Dham Yatra is usually planned once, carefully, and often with parents or grandparents. Distance is the first question: Guntur is about 1,800 km from Delhi by road. The answer is simple. Travel the long stretch by air or rail, and let us handle the mountain journey.

The most popular plan is a flight from Vijayawada airport, about 35 km from Guntur, to Delhi. Our driver meets you at arrivals and the Char Dham package from Delhi begins at once. Hyderabad airport, a few hours away by road, offers more flight choices, including connections to Dehradun for the shorter Dehradun start.

Rail travellers often break the journey: arrive in Delhi, rest one night in a hotel, and begin the yatra fresh the next morning. We can add that Delhi night to your quote. Air travellers should land before about 1 pm on Day 1. For both, our Char Dham by air and Char Dham by train guides go into more detail.

Travelling with parents: trek, pony or helicopter

Two of the four dhams need a walk. Yamunotri is 6 km from Janki Chatti, and Kedarnath is 16 km from Gaurikund. Gangotri and Badrinath are reached by road. For elders, there are three ways up:

  • Pony or palki: available at both treks at rates fixed by the local administration. A Kedarnath pony costs roughly ₹3,000–4,000 one way, a palki ₹8,000–12,000.
  • Kedarnath shuttle helicopter: flights from Phata, Sersi and Guptkashi, sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal after registration. The Phata round trip was ₹6,500 per person in 2026. See Kedarnath online helicopter booking.
  • Private charter: a Char Dham helicopter yatra from Dehradun covers all four shrines in 5 nights, with no long treks.
Shuttle seats sell out quickly in May and June. Fake websites and social media pages claiming to sell confirmed tickets are common; book only on heliyatra.irctc.co.in.

Hotels in the towns have attached bathrooms and hot water. At Kedarnath, rooms are basic for every budget because of the altitude and limited building space, so treat that night as part of the pilgrimage rather than a hotel stay. See Badrinath hotel booking for the range of rooms near the Vishnu temple.

Tips for pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh

  • Food: North Indian vegetarian meals with rice are easy to find; carry pickles, podi and snacks for a familiar taste.
  • Weather: pack for cold nights; see our packing list.
  • Season: late September to October is clear and calm; see best time to visit.
  • Registration: mandatory and free; see the registration guide.
  • Health: elders should consult a doctor about altitude before booking.
