An overnight train or a 90-minute flight takes you from Ahmedabad to Delhi. From there, a private vehicle carries your family to Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath and back in nine days, with vegetarian meals throughout.
Every summer, families and satsang groups from Ahmedabad set out for the Uttarakhand dhams. Many have done Badrinath before and now want to add Kedarnath and the source of the Ganga at Gangotri, without committing to the full twelve-day Char Dham. The Teen Dham Yatra is built for exactly that: three shrines, nine days from Delhi, and a comfortable pace for elders.
You make your own way to Delhi, about 950 km from Ahmedabad. The overnight train is the classic choice for families, while the flight takes around an hour and a half. Our driver meets you at the platform or arrivals hall, and from that moment every hotel, meal plan and road day is arranged for you until the drop back in Delhi.

Nine-day itinerary from Delhi
The route traces a loop through three river valleys, which you can see on our Char Dham route map. Temple opening dates for 2027 will be announced in early spring, and the opening dates page is updated as soon as they are out, so wait for them before you buy train tickets from Ahmedabad.

Food and comfort for Gujarati families
Meals in the hills are North Indian vegetarian: dal, rice, roti, sabzi and khichdi. Hotels in the dham towns do not serve non-vegetarian food. If anyone in your group needs Jain food without onion, garlic or root vegetables, tell us at booking and we ask each hotel; most can manage simple Jain meals, though choice is limited at Kedarnath. Carrying some thepla, khakhra and dry snacks from home is a good idea for the long road days.
Pack woollens: Ahmedabad heat in May gives no hint of the cold at Kedarnath.
Register every traveller on the free portal; see registration.
Kedarnath shuttle tickets are sold only on IRCTC HeliYatra; read the IRCTC guide.
The 2026 season closes in November; we are booking 2027 trips now.
