Surat families who run their own businesses often tell us they can spare ten or eleven days, not two weeks. This plan uses that time well: a train or flight north, then seven nights on the road to Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath from Haridwar.
Surat is roughly 1,150 km from Delhi by road. That distance is the main thing to plan around, because once you reach Haridwar the Teen Dham Yatra runs like clockwork: two nights at Uttarkashi for Gangotri, two at Guptkashi either side of a night at Kedarnath, one at Badrinath and one at Rudraprayag. Allow a day or two each way for travel and the whole journey fits into ten or eleven days.
We suggest joining at Haridwar rather than Delhi if you can, because it saves a day of plains driving and lowers the cost. Pilgrims who prefer Delhi can choose the Teen Dham from Delhi, and those flying can be met at Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport, about 35 km from Haridwar.
