About Char Dham Trip

Who we are

Char Dham Trip (chardhamtrip.in) is a private travel company with its office in Badarpur, New Delhi. We arrange journeys to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath for families, senior citizens, friends' groups and solo pilgrims, starting from Delhi, Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun. Some guests travel all four shrines in ten to twelve days; others choose a Do Dham Yatra or a single shrine such as Badrinath.

We want to be clear about what we are not. We are not a government department, the Badrinath–Kedarnath Temple Committee, IRCTC, GMVN or an airline. Registration for the yatra is done on the official Uttarakhand portal, and Kedarnath shuttle helicopter seats are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra website. Our job is to put the rest of the journey together so that it works on the ground.

What we arrange for you

A yatra in the Garhwal Himalaya has many moving parts: long mountain drives, hotels in small towns that fill up in May, a 16 km trek to Kedarnath, weather that can close a road for hours. We take care of the parts that can be planned in advance and stay reachable for the parts that cannot.

  • Day-wise route planning with realistic driving times, for example about 7–8 hours from Haridwar to Barkot and 8–9 hours from Guptkashi to Badrinath.
  • Hotels and night stops in Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, Kedarnath, Badrinath and Rudraprayag, in budget, deluxe or luxury categories.
  • Private vehicles with hill drivers: sedans, Ertiga, Innova Crysta and Tempo Travellers. See Innova Crysta booking and Tempo Traveller from Haridwar.
  • Seat-in-coach group tours for travellers on a tight budget, through our fixed departure tour and bus tour.
  • Helicopter charters from Dehradun for one, two, three or all four dhams, listed on the helicopter booking page.
  • Help with registration and with preparing for the IRCTC HeliYatra booking window.
  • Phone and WhatsApp support through the trip.

How we work with pilgrims

Plain prices

Every quote shows what is included and what is not. Pony and palki charges, the Sonprayag–Gaurikund shared jeep, puja fees and helicopter shuttle tickets are paid separately, and we say so up front rather than surprising you on the road. Prices on our pages are 2027 estimates; your final figure depends on dates, hotel category and the number of people sharing the vehicle.

Sample trip (group of 4, budget)DurationStarting from

Char Dham from Delhi11N / 12D₹24,500

Kedarnath only from Haridwar3N / 4D₹8,500

Realistic itineraries

We do not squeeze four shrines into seven days by road. The standard Char Dham route from Haridwar takes nine nights, with two nights at Barkot and Uttarkashi so that the Yamunotri trek and Gangotri drive each get a full day. Pilgrims from Delhi add a night in Haridwar at each end. You can read how the route fits together on the route map page.

Honest advice about weather and health

The roads of Uttarakhand are safest and most pleasant in May–June and from mid-September to October. In July and August the monsoon brings landslides, and we will tell you so if you ask about those months. We also encourage elderly travellers to see a doctor before travelling to 3,500 m, and to consider a pony, palki or helicopter at Kedarnath rather than forcing the trek.

Respect for the yatra

This is a pilgrimage, not only a holiday. Our itineraries leave time for the evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri, a dip in the Tapt Kund at Badrinath and darshan at an unhurried pace. Read our do's and don'ts for the customs we ask every guest to follow.

Who usually travels with us

Our guests come from all over India. Families from Delhi NCR, Meerut, Chandigarh or Agra can be picked up by road from home. Pilgrims from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and other distant cities usually take a train or flight to Delhi, Haridwar or Dehradun and meet their vehicle there; our Char Dham package from Mumbai explains how that works.

  • Senior citizens who need gentle pacing, lower-floor rooms where possible and help arranging a palki or pony.
  • Families with children who want a private car and fixed hotels.
  • Small budget groups who share a Tempo Traveller to bring the per-head cost down.
  • Time-pressed travellers who fly by helicopter from Dehradun.
  • Trekkers who combine the yatra with Gaumukh, Tungnath or the Valley of Flowers.

About the information on this website

We write our guides to answer the questions pilgrims ask us every season: when the temples open, how to register, what to pack and how the route runs. Facts such as altitudes, distances and fares are approximate and can change from year to year. Temple dates are announced by the temple committees and helicopter fares by the authorities each season, so treat our figures as a planning guide and confirm before you travel.
