In Thane the yatra often starts as a conversation in the housing society garden. Here is how a family or a whole group of neighbours can plan the four dhams: trains, flights, group prices and the nine-night road tour from Haridwar.
A good share of our enquiries from Thane come from groups: retired neighbours from the same society, a family spread across Ghodbunder Road and Kalwa, or members of a temple trust. Travelling together makes the Char Dham Yatra cheaper and more fun, and it means elders always have someone close by on the Kedarnath and Yamunotri walks.
Thane lies about 1,400 km from Delhi. Trains on the Central line pass through Thane and Kalyan, and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at Kurla is minutes away, so most groups take the train. A few long-distance services from the Mumbai side run through towards Haridwar or Dehradun; others reach Delhi, from where it is 230 km more. We start the road tour at Haridwar with our Haridwar package, or at Delhi with the Delhi package if you prefer.

Tips for group leaders
Collect ID copies and complete the free yatra registration for every member; see registration guide.
Ask each member about health conditions; elders should see a doctor before the trip.
Share a common packing list; Thane's humidity is no preparation for Kedarnath's cold.
If some members want Kedarnath shuttle seats, each person registers and books on IRCTC HeliYatra; see IRCTC helicopter booking.
Group leader contacts us on WhatsApp +91-99111 77951 with the head count, ages and dates.
We send the plan, vehicle options and per-person price.
Book trains for the whole group as soon as reservations open.
Confirm with an advance; terms come with the quote.
Travel and meet your driver at Haridwar.
