Ek Dham Yatra Package from Mumbai 2027

From the Arabian Sea to the high Himalaya

For a Mumbai family, the hardest part of a Kedarnath or Badrinath trip is usually the leave application, not the journey. With a morning flight to Dehradun, you can be on the road to the mountains by lunchtime; with an overnight train to Delhi, you arrive rested and save a hotel night. Either way, a single-dham yatra fits comfortably into a week away from the city.

We do not sell flights or train tickets. You book those yourself, and we take over at Dehradun airport, Haridwar or Delhi with a private car, hotels and a day-wise plan. Most Mumbai guests choose Kedarnath, but Badrinath is the better choice for grandparents or anyone who should avoid a long trek.

Our advice: fly to Dehradun if you can. It removes a full day of road travel at each end. If Dehradun flights are full or expensive on your dates, fly or take the train to Delhi and use the Ek Dham package from Delhi. Book flights as early as you can for May and June, which coincide with the school holidays.

Book your return flight for the afternoon of the last day, not the morning. Mountain roads can be slow, and a 3 pm departure from Dehradun leaves a sensible buffer.

Day-wise plan after you land

Kedarnath: 3 nights / 4 days from Dehradun or Haridwar

  1. Day
    1

Land at Dehradun, drive to Guptkashi

    about 230 km7–8 hoursNight: Guptkashi

Take the earliest flight you can and meet your driver at the arrivals gate. The car skirts Rishikesh and climbs to Devprayag and Rudraprayag before turning up the Mandakini valley. You reach Guptkashi in the evening; with a later flight, we stop for the night in Rishikesh instead and add a day.

  2. Day
    2

    The Kedarnath climb

    30 km drive + 16 km trek7–9 hoursNight: Kedarnath

At Sonprayag you switch to a shared jeep for the 5 km to Gaurikund. City walkers should take it slow: the path is paved but rises about 1,600 m. Ponies and palkis are available, and IRCTC shuttle passengers fly from Phata, Sersi or Guptkashi. Spend the night near the temple.

  3. Day
    3

    Dawn darshan and descent

16 km trek + 30 km driveFull dayNight: Guptkashi

Queue in the dark for morning darshan; it is cold, so wear every layer you brought. Visit Bhairavnath and the Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, then walk down. A warm dinner waits at your Guptkashi hotel.

  4. Day
    4

    Guptkashi to Dehradun airport

about 230 km7–8 hoursNight: Tour ends

Leave Guptkashi early for the drive down. You reach Dehradun airport or Haridwar station in the afternoon for your journey back to Mumbai.

Badrinath: 3 nights / 4 days from Haridwar

  1. Day
    1

    Haridwar to Joshimath

    275 km9–10 hoursNight: Joshimath

Because this is a long day, we suggest arriving in Haridwar the evening before. The drive follows the Alaknanda through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandprayag to Joshimath.

  2. Day
    2

    Badrinath darshan and Mana

    45 km2 hoursNight: Badrinath

Reach Badrinath by late morning, bathe at the Tapt Kund and take darshan. In the afternoon walk around Mana, India's last village on this road, to see Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and Bhim Pul. Back in town for evening aarti.

  3. Day
    3

    Badrinath to Srinagar

    160 km6–7 hoursNight: Rudraprayag / Srinagar

An early second darshan, or rites at Brahma Kapal, then the drive down the valley. Overnight at Rudraprayag or Srinagar Garhwal.

  4. Day
    4

    Back to Haridwar or Dehradun

    165–200 km6–7 hoursNight: Tour ends

Drive past Devprayag and Rishikesh to Haridwar station or Dehradun airport for your evening train or flight to Mumbai.

Gangotri or Yamunotri instead

Some Mumbai families who have already been to Kedarnath return for the other two shrines. Gangotri only is a 3N/4D trip with two nights in Uttarkashi and a road right up to the temple. Yamunotri only stays two nights in Barkot and includes a 6 km walk from Janki Chatti, ending in Mussoorie or Dehradun, which is handy for the airport. Both start from about ₹8,500 per person; see the Gangotri Yamunotri package from Mumbai to combine them.

Advice for Mumbai pilgrims

  • Climate shock is real. You leave 32°C humidity and arrive at freezing mornings. Pack thermals, a fleece, a windproof jacket, gloves and a cap; see things to carry.
  • Walk before you go. A few weeks of daily walks, including stairs, make the Kedarnath trek far easier.
  • Helicopter tickets. Kedarnath shuttle seats are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal after registration. Many fake sites target buyers from big cities; our IRCTC guide shows the real process.
  • Register online before you fly. It is free; see registration.
  • Choose September or October if you can. Flights are cheaper than in May, and skies are clearer.
