Badrinath is the northern seat of India's four great dhams, with Rameswaram in the far south. For Tamil Nadu pilgrims, travelling from one end of that circle to the other is a journey of real meaning.
Adi Shankaracharya is credited with linking India's four great pilgrimage seats: Badrinath in the north, Puri in the east, Dwarka in the west and Rameswaram in the south. Many families in Chennai have visited Rameswaram several times, and a journey to Badrinath completes the picture. Pairing it with Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, makes the trip equally precious to devotees of Shiva and Vishnu.
The distance is the obstacle. Chennai to Delhi is roughly 2,200 km, nearly three hours by air or well over a day by train. Our package starts where that journey ends: a 6-night, 7-day road tour from Delhi with your own car and driver, hotels at every stop and vegetarian meals. You arrange the flight or train, choosing whatever fare and timing suits your family.

Advice for Tamil Nadu pilgrims
Cold is the biggest change
Chennai rarely drops below 20°C; Kedarnath can be near freezing at dawn even in June. Pack thermals, a padded jacket, woollen socks, gloves and a cap. Our things to carry list has the rest.
Food
Rice is available almost everywhere, but sambar, rasam and curd rice are not. Many families carry instant mixes, podi and pickles. Both shrine towns are vegetarian.
Puja and rituals
Special pujas at both temples are booked through the temple committee's own channels and paid separately. For ancestral rites at Brahma Kapal, local priests are available on the spot.
Documents
Every pilgrim must complete the free yatra registration. Helicopter tickets for Kedarnath are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal; see the helicopter booking guide.

Do Dham from Chennai: FAQ
Why is Badrinath important for pilgrims from the south?
Badrinath is the northern seat among the four great dhams linked by Adi Shankaracharya, alongside Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, Puri and Dwarka. Many families aim to visit all four in their lifetime.
How much does Do Dham cost from Chennai?
The land tour from Delhi starts from about ₹15,500 per person for four travellers on budget hotels. Add your flight or train fare and expenses such as pony or helicopter.
Is the trip safe for people above 60?
Yes, with planning. Badrinath is a road shrine. For Kedarnath, use a pony, palki or IRCTC helicopter, and get a medical check-up before travel.
Can we combine Kedarnath, Badrinath and Haridwar sightseeing?
Yes. Add a night in Haridwar or Rishikesh on the way back to visit temples and ashrams at leisure.
What is the best month from Chennai?
May–June or mid-September to October. Chennai's own northeast monsoon begins in October, but that does not affect Uttarakhand; avoid July and August there.
Will language be a problem in Uttarakhand?
Drivers and hotel staff speak Hindi and usually some English. Our team handles bookings and support in English, and temple priests at both shrines are used to pilgrims from every state.
