More than 2,000 km separate Bengaluru from the Garhwal Himalaya. A flight closes most of that gap in under three hours; this page plans everything that comes after the landing.
For pilgrims from Bengaluru, Kedarnath and Badrinath are about as far from home as an Indian yatra gets. The road distance to Delhi alone is roughly 2,150 km, and the train takes well over a day. That is why almost everyone from Karnataka flies, and why careful planning of the ground part matters so much: you do not want a missed connection or a landslide to waste leave that took months to arrange.
We run the ground part. You fly to Delhi or Dehradun; we pick you up and run a private road tour to both shrines and back. The Delhi plan is 6 nights and 7 days; the Dehradun plan is a night shorter. In both, a lower-altitude night at Guptkashi comes before Kedarnath, which helps people coming from Bengaluru's mild 900 m climate adjust to 3,500 m.

Which arrival city is better? Delhi has many more daily flights from Bengaluru and usually lower fares, which is why we highlight the Delhi plan. Dehradun saves a day of driving if a convenient flight exists for your dates; in that case the Haridwar Do Dham applies. For all four shrines, see Char Dham from Bengaluru.
Building in a buffer day
The last day of the Delhi plan is a 10–11 hour drive from Srinagar Garhwal. A road delay of even two hours can make an evening flight to Bengaluru risky. We therefore suggest one of these:
Book the return flight for the morning after day 7 and stay one night in Delhi near the airport.
Or add a night in Rishikesh or Haridwar on the way down and drive to Delhi on day 8.
If you fly into Dehradun, choose a return flight in the late afternoon or evening of day 6.
Arriving the evening before day 1 is also wise if your flight lands after noon. We can book a Delhi hotel night at the category you choose.
Itinerary: Delhi to Delhi in seven days
Day 1
Delhi airport to Haridwar
230 km6–7 hoursNight: Haridwar
Our driver meets you at the domestic arrivals hall. The road to Haridwar crosses the flat sugar-cane country of western Uttar Pradesh, so it is a good time to rest after an early flight. Evening at Har Ki Pauri for the Ganga aarti, then dinner and an early night.
Day 2
Haridwar to Guptkashi
200 km7–8 hoursNight: Guptkashi
The car climbs into the hills beyond Rishikesh. Halt at Devprayag to see the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda become the Ganga, then continue to Rudraprayag and up the Mandakini. Guptkashi's cool evening air is the first real taste of the Himalaya.
Day 3
Kedarnath by trek, pony or helicopter
30 km + 16 kmFull dayNight: Kedarnath
After the registration check at Sonprayag and the jeep to Gaurikund, the climb begins. Pilgrims from the south often choose a pony for the ascent; rates are fixed by the local administration and change each season. With IRCTC shuttle tickets you fly from Phata, Sersi or Guptkashi in a few minutes. Overnight at Kedarnath.

Day 4
Darshan and back to Guptkashi
16 km + 30 kmFull dayNight: Guptkashi
Pre-dawn darshan of the Jyotirlinga is the best time, with short queues and the temple glowing in the first light. Visit the Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, a special place for pilgrims from Karnataka given the Sringeri connection to his legacy. Descend and drive back to Guptkashi.
Day 5
Guptkashi to Badrinath
200 km8–9 hoursNight: Badrinath
Cross the ridge via Ukhimath and Chopta, then follow the Alaknanda up past Chamoli and Joshimath. Badrinath sits in a wide valley between the Nar and Narayan ranges. Bathe in the Tapt Kund and attend the evening aarti.
Day 6
Badri Narayan darshan, Mana, Srinagar
About 195 km7–8 hoursNight: Srinagar Garhwal
Morning darshan, then a visit to Mana for Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa and the Saraswati at Bhim Pul. Brahma Kapal is the place for ancestral rites if your family wishes. Afternoon drive to Srinagar Garhwal.
Day 7
Srinagar Garhwal to Delhi
About 360 km10–11 hoursNight: Tour ends
Leave early for the long drive down to the plains. We drop you at a hotel near Delhi airport or straight at the terminal for a late flight. A next-morning flight to Bengaluru is the safest choice.

Tips for pilgrims from Karnataka
Food: South Indian meals are rare in the hills. Hotels serve rice, dal, roti and sabzi; carry ready-to-eat upma or rava mixes and pickles if you miss home food.
Cold: Bengaluru's pleasant climate is no preparation for 3,500 m. Pack thermals, a padded jacket, gloves and a cap. See things to carry.
Helicopter: Kedarnath shuttle tickets are sold only on IRCTC HeliYatra; see our IRCTC guide. Ignore sites promising guaranteed seats.
Timing: check the opening dates before booking non-refundable flights.

Bengaluru to Kedarnath and Badrinath: FAQ
How many days do I need from Bengaluru for Kedarnath and Badrinath?
About eight days in total: one travel day each way plus six or seven on tour. A buffer night in Delhi before the return flight is strongly advised.
Does the package include flights from Bengaluru?
No. Booking your own flights lets you use offers and choose times. The package covers everything from arrival in Delhi or Dehradun.
Can we take the train from Bengaluru instead?
Yes, but it takes well over a day each way. Most Bengaluru pilgrims fly; rail suits those with plenty of time.
Will the driver understand Kannada or Tamil?
Drivers speak Hindi and usually basic English. Our support team can help over the phone in English.
Is the Do Dham helicopter charter a good idea for us?
If time is very short, the Do Dham helicopter booking from Dehradun covers both shrines in 1 night and 2 days, estimated at ₹1,25,000 per person.
Which month suits Bengaluru families best?
May and early June line up with school holidays but are the busiest weeks. Mid-September to October is clearer and calmer, and Dasara holidays sometimes fit that window. Avoid July and August, when monsoon landslides are common. Our best time to visit guide explains each month.
