Char Dham Yatra Package from Durgapur 2027

Planning the yatra from Durgapur

Durgapur is a city of steel plants, factories and offices, where leave is planned months in advance. The Char Dham Yatra fits best into one long break, and for many Bengali families that break comes around the autumn Puja holidays, which happen to fall in the best part of the Himalayan season. The other popular window is May and June, during school vacations.

The city is about 1,300 km from Delhi on the busy Howrah–Delhi rail corridor. Most of our Durgapur guests take a train to New Delhi, sleep on board, and meet our driver at the station. From there the Char Dham Yatra from Delhi covers all four shrines in 11 nights and 12 days. Those short of leave fly from Kolkata instead.

  • Train (most popular): Many trains between Howrah and New Delhi stop at Durgapur or nearby Asansol. The journey takes most of a day and a night. Arrive in the morning to start the yatra the same day.
  • Flight from Kolkata: Kolkata airport is about 170 km away, three to four hours by road. Flights to Delhi take about two hours.
  • Flight to Dehradun: With a connection, you can fly from Kolkata to Dehradun and take the 9N/10D Dehradun package, saving two road days.
