Pilgrims from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar live a short drive from Grishneshwar, the twelfth Jyotirlinga. Kedarnath, the highest of the twelve, is the natural next step, and the route there runs through Delhi.
Many families in Aurangabad, now officially Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, have made the short trip to Grishneshwar near Ellora more times than they can count. The Char Dham Yatra takes that devotion north to Kedarnath, Lord Shiva's Jyotirlinga at 3,583 m, and adds three more great shrines: Yamunotri, Gangotri and Badrinath.
Delhi is about 1,200 km from Aurangabad by road and slightly less by rail. The city's airport has direct flights to Delhi of roughly two hours, which is by far the quickest way. Trains, often with a connection at Manmad or via Jalna, take around 18 to 24 hours. Our road package starts in Delhi: you arrive, and a private car with a hill driver takes you through the whole circuit and back.

If your dates are flexible, fly one way and take the train the other. Our guides on Char Dham by air and by train explain timing, and pilgrims from nearby Jalna, Beed and Ahmednagar can follow the same plan. Families on the Mumbai side should see the Mumbai page.
Whichever way you travel, think about luggage. On the yatra itself, large suitcases stay in the car, and you need only a small backpack on the Yamunotri and Kedarnath days. Flying with one medium bag per person is usually enough for twelve days, since many hotels on the route can arrange laundry during the two-night halts. If you take the train, a soft bag is easier to stow than a hard case. Keep medicines, ID and your registration QR code in hand luggage at all times.

Advice for Marathwada pilgrims
Pack for cold and rain. Marathwada's dry heat is nothing like the Himalaya; see things to carry.
Get fit. Start walking daily a month before. The Kedarnath and Yamunotri paths are uphill.
Fly direct to Delhi (about 2 hours) or take a train (18–24 hours). Our car picks you up in Delhi and completes the yatra by road.
What is the Char Dham Yatra cost from Aurangabad?
From about ₹24,500 per person for the Delhi-to-Delhi package in budget hotels (group of four), ₹35,500 in deluxe and ₹53,500 in luxury. Travel to Delhi is extra. These are 2027 estimates.
Is Aurangabad the same as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?
Yes. The city was renamed; this page applies to the whole city and nearby towns.
Can we combine Kedarnath with other Jyotirlingas?
Kedarnath is the Jyotirlinga on this route. Uttarkashi and Guptkashi also have Vishwanath temples. Other Jyotirlingas would need separate trips.
Can elders manage the Kedarnath trek?
Many do it by pony, palki or the IRCTC shuttle helicopter. A medical check-up before travel is strongly advised.
Do you sell Kedarnath helicopter tickets?
No. Shuttle seats are sold only on the IRCTC HeliYatra portal after registration. We help with the process and plan around your ticket.
