Badrinath from Delhi
- Pickup at Delhi station or airport
- Joshimath and Badrinath stays
- Mana village
From the Sabarmati to the Alaknanda in under a week. You travel from Ahmedabad to Delhi by train or air, and our car takes over from there for a four-night road yatra to Badrinath.
Ahmedabad lies roughly 950 km from Delhi by rail and around 1,450 km from Badrinath, so the yatra has two parts. First you reach Delhi (or Haridwar) on your own by train or flight. Then our vehicle and driver take over for the hill section, which is the part that needs local knowledge: mountain roads, hotel bookings at Badrinath and the registration check-posts.
Badrinath is the most comfortable of the four dhams for Gujarati families with elders, because the road reaches the town and there is no trek. A typical trip from Ahmedabad takes six to seven days door to door. All prices here are 2027 estimates; the 2026 season closes in mid-November, and the 2027 opening date is declared on Basant Panchami.
| Option | Approx. journey | Arrives at | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overnight train | 13–16 hours | Delhi stations; some trains reach Haridwar | Families with luggage and seniors who prefer berths |
| Direct flight to Delhi | About 1.5 hours | Delhi airport | Short leave; quickest option |
| Flight to Dehradun | Usually with a connection | Jolly Grant, 35 km from Haridwar | Joining the shorter Haridwar plan |
Several long-distance trains run between Ahmedabad and Delhi every day, and a few continue towards Haridwar and Dehradun; check current schedules on IRCTC. If you land in Haridwar, you can switch to the 3N/4D Badrinath package from Haridwar and save a day. Our Char Dham by train and Char Dham by air guides cover connections in more detail.
The prices below are for the land part only. Train or flight fares between Ahmedabad and Delhi or Haridwar are booked by you, or by us on request at actual cost.
| Land package | Duration | Budget | Deluxe | Luxury |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Badrinath, Delhi to Delhi | 4N / 5D | ₹10,500 | ₹14,500 | ₹22,500 |

Estimated 2027 prices per person for four travellers sharing a vehicle. The final quote depends on dates, hotel category and group size.
Most guests take an overnight train or an early flight the day before Day 1, or arrive in Delhi on the morning of Day 1 itself.
Your driver meets you at the Delhi railway station or airport with a name card. After breakfast on the way, you drive north to Haridwar and check in by afternoon. The evening Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri is the perfect start to a pilgrimage.
The longest drive climbs from Rishikesh along the Ganga and Alaknanda. You pass Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandprayag, where tributaries join the main river. Joshimath, also known as Jyotirmath, is reached by evening.
Drive up the gorge to Badrinath and check in near the temple. Bathe at Tapt Kund and take darshan of Badri Narayan. Later visit Mana village, with its cave shrines of Vyas and Ganesh and the rock bridge of Bhim Pul, before the evening aarti.
Attend the early morning darshan and, if your family wishes, perform shraddh rites at Brahma Kapal. Then drive back down the Alaknanda valley to Srinagar. The evening is free to rest.
Leave after breakfast and drive via Devprayag, Rishikesh and Haridwar to Delhi. You are dropped at the station or airport for a night train or late flight to Ahmedabad. If your connection is the next day, we can book a Delhi hotel.
Here is how the whole journey looks for a family that takes an overnight train both ways and wants to be back at work the following Friday. Flying instead saves roughly a day at each end.
| Day | What happens | Night |
|---|---|---|
| Friday evening | Overnight train from Ahmedabad | On the train |
| Saturday | Arrive Delhi, drive to Haridwar, Ganga aarti | Haridwar |
| Sunday | Mountain drive via the prayags | Joshimath |
| Monday | Badrinath darshan, Mana village, evening aarti | Badrinath |
| Tuesday | Dawn darshan, drive down the valley | Srinagar |
| Wednesday | Drive to Delhi, evening train | On the train |
| Thursday | Arrive Ahmedabad | Home |
This plan uses four days of leave. If a landslide delays the road, which can happen in the monsoon, the Wednesday train is the part at risk, so in July and August we suggest booking the return a day later or choosing a flexible flight. For groups of ten or more from the same society or temple trust, a Tempo Traveller from Delhi keeps everyone together and lowers the per-person cost; ask us for a group quote.
Hotels on the Badrinath route serve vegetarian North Indian meals, and onion and garlic are often avoided near the temple. Gujarati dishes are not common in the hills, so many families carry thepla, khakhra and dry snacks for the road. Jain food without root vegetables can be requested, though choices are limited in small towns.
Badrinath rooms cost about ₹2,000–8,000 per room per night depending on category; read the Badrinath hotel booking page for details.

About six to seven days door to door: one night of travel each way to Delhi plus the four-night road yatra. Flying both ways can bring it down to five or six days.
The land package from Delhi starts at about ₹10,500 per person on budget hotels for four travellers. Train or flight fares are extra. These are 2027 estimates.
Some trains from Gujarat run towards Haridwar and Dehradun, but not every day. Check IRCTC for current schedules; if you reach Haridwar we switch you to the shorter 3N/4D plan from ₹8,500.
